Blah Blah Blah

It's still dark and cold here.

Waiting to emerge.

Waiting.

The bulbs have flowered, but they're lonely bursts of yellow narcissus, purple hyacinths, and pink tulips fragrant but slimy underneath the torrential rain. I've been so absent-minded and ornery I almost missed the trip to the Hat Museum! ( Please see Lulu's Vintage blog for a little peek at the Hat Museum....)

Here's a little bit more of collage fun. I can't share with you the new project I'm working on because it's still in fragmented stages, so it must remain a mystery for now!

SCRAP part deux

Thank goodness the SCRAP bag is finished!! My sewing machine and I are not always the best of friends. Now to let the little bag out into the wild, for someone else to get good use out of it. I mean who wouldn't want this adorable funky bag?

Do you know about SCRAP?

The School and Community Reuse Action Project is a Portland non-profit committed to the environmentally sustainable and creative reuse of materials in the community. Check out their website for more info, they offer tons of outreach programs, workshops, and volunteer opportunities: http://www.scrapaction.org

How cool is that?

I've been taking a short break from printing and dusted off my sewing machine to help contribute this reusable shopping bag to sell in the store as a fundraiser. Holy crap it's due by Saturday! Time to get off the internets and get back to work!!

Silk Screenin'

First silk screen run ever. This is really addictive!
I used a $6 work lamp from the hardware store and the Speedball Photo-Emulsion kit and I found a screen at a thrift store.

This is cheaper than gocco, kids! Although it does involve using lots of water and strange chemicals.
